Norman Borlaug

Directions: Underline the words in the story as you find them, unscramble them and write them in the boxes below. Norman Borlaug was an agronomist who devoted his life to finding a way to feed starving people of the world. He has been called the father of the "Green Revolution". He worked with the Rockefeller Foundation in Mexico to develop a new dwarf grain which would produce three times the amount of grain they had been growing. The grain was also planted in India and Pakistan. Many people were fed because of the improved grain and famine did not happen in those countries. Environmentalists tried to stop his work. They said bioengineered food might make people sick. He received many awards for his work.

The look has changed! Some of the puzzles that people list for the public get indexed by the search engines (like Google). Some people find those puzzles and cannot figure out how to make a puzzle of their own. So this page now has the navigation sidebar.

Use the "Printable HTML" button to get a clean page, in either HTML or PDF, that you can use your browser's print button to print. This page won't have buttons or ads, just your puzzle. The PDF format allows the web site to know how large a printer page is, and the fonts are scaled to fill the page. The PDF takes awhile to generate. Don't panic!
